Swedish Massage
Swedish Massage includes long, flowing strokes, kneading and friction techniques on the superficial layers of muscle. It is used for relaxation and improved circulation.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow, focused strokes and deep, localized pressure on the contacted areas.
Sports Massage
Sports Massage is very specific routine of vigorous stokes and compressions that are applied just prior to or following an athletic event. It is designed to help the body prepare for the event by stretching muscles and stimulating blood flow. Following strenuous exercise Sports Massage will assist the body eliminate lactic acid and other waste products of metabolism. Sports massage is typically applied over clothing, while the client is on a table at the location of the event.
Reflexology
Reflexology is an ancient healing technique based on the theory that there are 10 energy zones running through the body from head-to-toe. By using pressure on specific "reflex points" on the hands or feet, a reflexologist can unblock energy channels.
Pre-Natal Massage
For mothers-to-be in their second and third trimester. (Massage is generally not recommended during a woman’s first trimester). Massage performed correctly is both safe and effective during pregnancy and is designed to reduce pregnancy discomforts and help reduce the physical and emotional stresses a mother to be often experiences. You may want to bring your own pillow.
Cranio-Sacral Therapy
A recently developed hands-on approach to healing that applies gentle, non-invasive pressure to balance what is known as the cranio-sacral system. This therapy is a gentle and effective technique performed on a fully clothed individual or integrated into a typical massage session.
NeuroMuscular Therapy
Is a system of pain relief that uses trigger points to relax nerve stimulation of muscles. Trigger points are defined as hypersensitive locations in the muscle that cause pain in response to undue stress. They develop into tight bands or knots within the muscle. These bands or knots can cause the muscles to spasm, limit the movement of joints, and cause pain. Trigger points often do not occur in the same location where the pain is felt. Instead the pain may occur some distance from the actual location of the trigger point.
