Applications of Massage
Massage has benefits for just about everyone.
Massage & Stress
Research on massage has shown that it reduces the physiological toll of stress, and helps people cope better psychologically. Massage can relieve stress, which is linked to major health problems including heart disease, cancer, stroke, and many mental illnesses.
Massage & Athletic Performance
Regular massage prior to, and between, events can increase strength of contraction, increase range-of-motion, improve health of muscle tissues, and create a calm, focused mental state all resulting in optimal performance. Post- event massage helps to speed recovery and prepare the body for the next workout or event.
Massage for Travelers - Recover from jet lag and the ache of travel. Massage will restore health to sore muscles and stiff joints as well as balance to tired spirit and mind. A session of rest and manipulation will help you transition quickly to your new environment feeling energized and ready.
Winning Edge - Competition in the boardroom or on the athletic field both require mental agility, keen focus and positive sense of self. Massage can help sharpen these attributes giving you the winning edge.
Massage & The Workplace
Even a 15-minute weekly massage can have profound benefits: headache relief, easing the pain of carpel tunnel syndrome, relief from back and shoulder strain, improved concentration, and stress relief.
Massage During Pregnancy
Massage can help with lower back pain, fatigue, and circulatory problems that typically accompany a normal pregnancy. Many expectant mothers have made it a regular part of their prenatal regimen. Massage is not recommended during a woman’s first trimester.
Massage & Aging
Studies on massage for those 60 and older show that it helps improve range-of-motion, balance, agility, and sleep. Other benefits important to older people include reduced water retention, relief from dry skin, and improved mental alertness.
